Moving coil microphone has good sound quality, but its volume is huge. Electret microphone is small in size and low in cost. It is widely used in telephone, mobile phone and other equipment. Silicon micro microphone is based on CMOS MEMS technology and is smaller. Its consistency will be more than 4 times better than that of electret capacitor microphone, so MEMS microphone is especially suitable for cost-effective microphone array applications. Among them, a better matched microphone will improve sound wave formation and reduce noise. Laser microphones are used in eavesdropping.
Microphones can be divided into electric microphones and condenser microphones according to their energy conversion principle. The electric type can be subdivided into dynamic microphone and aluminum ribbon microphone [2].
Common commercial microphone types include condenser microphone, crystal microphone, carbon microphone and dynamic microphone. There are two kinds of energy sources commonly used in capacitive microphones: DC bias power supply and electret film. Both condenser microphones and crystal microphones convert sound energy into electrical energy to produce a changing electric field. The carbon microphone uses a DC voltage source to change its resistance through sound vibration, so as to convert the sound signal into electrical signal. Capacitive, crystal and carbon microphones produce a voltage signal proportional to the displacement of the sensitive film, while dynamic microphones produce a voltage signal proportional to the vibration rate of the sensitive film. The dynamic microphone uses permanent magnet as the energy source and converts sound energy into electric energy based on inductance effect [3].
